Cutting Through the Noise
Listening is a very difficult thing. And every day comes this process, the process of trying to listen even more carefully. As a concert pianist, you’re not only listening to yourself, your inner thoughts, but you’re also listening to your surroundings.
DIALOGUE
Dialogue, the debut album of pianist Cyrill Ibrahim, features Bach’s second Partita, Schubert’s A major Sonata (D. 664), Debussy’s first book of the Images, and Schumann’s Allegro, Op. 8. These pieces from the core piano repertoire show the different approaches to the instrument and explore the enormous potential in sound, color, and expression. Cyrill has selected these works because, at different times in his life, they all played an important role. Cyrill has performed both as soloist and a chamber recitalist on the national and international stage for such halls as the Berliner Philharmonie and Concertgebouw in Amsterdam
