My Kings Place Recording for PIPT

I was lucky enough to be able to record at Kings Place, a music and visual arts venue in King’s Cross, exclusively for Pipt, the new authentic media platform. I recorded two pieces, one by Chopin and another by Brahms, to be released at the end of the month, I also received endless support from my amazing team, Gareth Kay (videography), Callum Lawrence(sound engineer), Charlie Hembrow (producer), Chrissy Rose (tape operator).

The self-proclaimed cultural pulse of King’s Cross, Kings place lies on Regent’s Canal and opens its doors and stages to people of all creative backgrounds. I had the amazing opportunity to play on such an incredible Steinway, in an even more incredible hall. And at that moment, everything suddenly made sense. The hall, my work, the instrument, they all worked together to produce the most amazing sound - because the acoustic is fantastic there, it really works so well. Also, the team over at King’s Place were wonderful, they made it such a lovely experience.

The team really delved into my work and allowed me to explore different options, in terms of what the piece required. We then explored it in terms of how the piece felt, they were so helpful.
